It is with great disappointment that the Corstorphine Fair Committee decided to postpone the 2020 Fair. After taking into consideration all the advice coming from the authorities about Covid 19 infection the committee felt it would have been irresponsible not to.
Originally rescheduled for 2021, the decision was taken for a further postponement.
It is now rescheduled to Saturday 4th June 2022.
Some of the thought processes behind this include:
- The chief scientific officer predicts the Coronavirus peak to be 10 to 14 weeks away, coinciding with the Fair date.
- It is unclear what our Public Liability Insurance cover would be in these exceptional circumstances.
- Would people really want to attend a large event, even if restrictions were lifted? We are dependent on a large attendance to help pay for the infrastructure required.
- Safety is our priority, the Fair is meant to be a safe fun day out.
We hope you understand and respect our decision and that you all turn out in force in 2022.
Participating Groups who have already paid registration fees etc will be contacted individually about reimbursement.
